Brad Sewell is Cool

IMG_0491Brad Sewell, you don’t fake free kicks, and you are always in the rough hard stuff being battered every week, not on the outside running through players.  Read the rest of this entry »

Luke, you said that you have 150 good reasons to re-sign, there’s one little reason too.  You both looked so cute running out for your 150th game.  Lucky I took this photo because I raced home to watch it on the replay and they didn’t show it.

Life if great when your team has a win. Read the rest of this entry »

Hawk Friends

2937_Gnome09_thumbSometimes we want our team to win so badly, but it doesn’t work out that way.   The game started well, especially as Sewell kicked a goal from a set shot.  But it just didn’t happen for us. Read the rest of this entry »

Hawks may not have won but what a Banner!!

July 26, 2009 at 1:04 pm (Footy, Fun) (, , , )

DSCF6051_2It isn’t a game that I want to remember but well done to Sam Mitchell (150), Jarryd Roughead (100) and of course, my favourite, Brad Sewell (100).

Who put the ‘sexy legs’ message in the Herald Sun on Saturday?  It had to be for Brad Sewell.  Great message anyway. Read the rest of this entry »

Buddy with 5, Luke back to best.

July 18, 2009 at 11:12 pm (Footy) (, , , , )

HOdgeSwan246AAAnother win to the Hawks as they turned an 11-point half-time deficit into a 45-point win.
They  outscored the Pies 13 goals to four in the second-half to keep their finals hopes well and truly alive with an 18.13 (121) to 11.10 (76) win.

Buddy kicked 5 goals and Luke Hodge seemed back to his best.   The Hawks were returning to the form that led to them winning the 2008 premiership, but have very hard games ahead against this year’s leaders.

Hawks have a Win.

July 12, 2009 at 6:51 am (Footy) (, )

lance_r1509aIt will be a good week this week.   After trailing for most of the day, Hodge kicked a goal and put the Hawks in front. The Hawks win in Tasmania and Lance Franklin was back in form.

A FOUR-goal fourth quarter to superstar Lance Franklin has seen Hawthorn home over North Melbourne by nine points at Launceston’s Aurora Stadium. Tasmania.

Ineffective in front of goal for the first three quarters, Franklin turned it on when it counted, helping the Hawks maintain September hopes by spurring them to a 10.13 (73) to 9.10 (64) victory.

Hawks not so fun time.

July 6, 2009 at 10:08 am (Footy) (, )

Sewell246Not the best of weekends for the Hawks. I could not believe that first half.

Brad Sewell said that he was stunned.   I think every Hawthorn supporter was too.   But there is always next week, and who would have thought that last year they would have given us such a wonderful time.  We will be back, even if it is not this year.
